Shellfish from Kalloni Gulf – Wild-Caught & Certified by DIVES MARE

At DIVES MARE – Exclusive Seafood, our shellfish come exclusively from the Kalloni Gulf of Lesvos, one of the most nutrient-rich marine ecosystems in the Aegean.
Its gentle tides and abundant phytoplankton create the ideal natural environment for shellfish to develop their distinctive, full-bodied flavour and remarkable texture.

Each shellfish is hand-harvested by professional divers, strictly wild-caught, never farmed, during the permitted fishing periods between November and August.
Every batch is certified by the DIVES MARE Shellfish Dispatch Centre, ensuring traceability, safety, and superior freshness.

 Most commonly available species include:

  • Havara (wild mussels)

  • Warty Venus (Kydonia)

  • Noah's Ark Shell  (Kalognomes)
    Other species may be available seasonally, depending on local marine conditions and regulations.

Around 95–97% of all Kalloni shellfish are exported to Italy, a testament to their exceptional quality and international reputation.
Those you select through DIVES MARE are delivered directly to you on the same day of harvest, packed in insulated ISO Box with ice, preserving their natural freshness and authentic Aegean character.

You may also pair them with any products from the DIVES MARE Boutique collection — from premium white wines and sparkling labels to fine delicatessen pairings, creating a truly refined Mediterranean experience.

Fresh Product Order Process (Fish & Shellfish)

To ensure you enjoy the finest, freshest experience from DIVES MARE – Exclusive Seafood, all fresh products are handled through a direct and personalised process.

Please follow the steps below:

1️⃣ Add the "Fresh Fish of the Day" or "Shellfish from Kalloni Gulf" option to your cart, depending on what you wish to order, and complete your purchase as usual.

2️⃣ Our team will automatically see that your order includes a fresh product and will contact you directly to confirm:

  • availability (which depends daily on the catch and authorised harvesting periods),

  • quantities and preferences,

  • and the current pricing.

💡 Even if a specific product isn't available that day, it may be available the next.

3️⃣ Once we agree on the products and prices, you'll receive the final cost and can proceed with payment for the fresh items:

  • either by bank transfer, sending your payment confirmation to our email along with your name and order number,

  • or via a payment request we'll send you securely through Viva Wallet.

4️⃣ As soon as your payment is confirmed, we'll proceed immediately with dispatch of your complete order.

💎 If your order also includes packaged products (such as delicatessen or wines) that have already been paid for, we recommend settling the payment for the fresh items promptly, so that everything can be shipped together — avoiding additional delivery costs.
